ISL To Have 22 Teams In 2014

The Indonesia Super League is tortuously taking shape.

For 2014 the ISL will be split into two regional conferences with 11 teams in each.

I don't think the clubs have been split yet but anyone who can read a map could guess much of the make up of each conference.

West Sumatra - Semen Padang
South Sumatra - Sriwijaya
Banten - Persita
Jakarta - Persija
West Java - Persib, Pelita Bandung Raya
Central Java - Persijap
Yogyakarta - Persiba Bantul
East Java - Arema, Persebaya, Persik, Persela, Persepam, Persegres
South Kalimantan - Barito Putra
East Kalimantan - Persisam, Persiba, Mitra Kukar
Sulawesi - PSM
Papua - Persiram, Perseru, Persipura

The league will be played home and away meaning each team will play a total of 20 games.

The top four will then go into the Big 8 which will also be played home and away.

Then comes Persebaya will win the league are just rumours!

The bottom two in each conference will be relegated to Divisi Utama while just two teams will be promoted for 2015.

Now I don't wanna sound overly cautious but some of this may actually change so don't go booking your hols yet!

And as to when it all starts...1 Feb apparently with the conferences to be decided next week!
