Persik v Persiba Bantul 1-0

There's never a dull moment watching Persik Kediri. Indonesian football's very own Haarlem Globetrotters have been having a hard time of late with coach Arcan Iurie, goalie Markus Horison and midfielder Danilo Fernando already gone. Budi Sudarsono is also keen to leave the East Javan side while striker Christian Gonzales is suspended for 12 months.

But new coach Aji Santoso is still able to field players like Ahmad Kurniawan, Hamkah Hamza, Ronald Fagundez and striker Saktiawan Sinaga as well as fielding promising young striker Yongky.

It was the former PSMS striker Saktiawan who gave the home side the lead with a delicate chip with the outside of his boot and moments later Hamza ghosted in at the back stick to make it 2-0 but the goal was disallowed by the linesman.

A healthy crowd shows the Persik fans are keeping the faith despite the money troubles while on the field Aji Santoso is sticking to the champagne football that has brought the side so much success in recent years.

The start of the second half sees some sustained pressure from the visitors but three or four times in three or four minutes keeper Ahmad Kurniawan is called upon to make vital saves.

Last minute and Persiba looked to have snatched a surprise draw but Kurniawan saved his team again.
